Default Whippled 2003 vert (FAsnakes)?? Coming home soon...

So after quite some time of laying low, i think it's time to throw a thread up..

Long story short, FRPS blew 6 hours away from home (While i was in Vegas on vacation) and flooded the engine. Towed the car to RET and after 20 minutes or so had her running again. We left the car running to burn through excess fuel went inside to have in&out, by the time we came back out the car was off and coolant was on the ground...

Once we fired it up again, there was a noticeable ticking sound.. Ticking sound progressively got worse...

Pulled the engine, damage as follows:
  • 1 head was scored
  • Shortblock was toast
  • New bearings
  • New Rings
Other shit that i might be leaving out...

At any rate, after two months my baby should be coming home next week...

In addition, they tow driver damaged the front end of car while dropping it.. So, i need to replace, the HE, HE support bar, chin spoiler and i should touch up the bumper.. (The tow company paid)

All this on a built motor that was 4 months old..

At the end of the day, i just chalk this up to karma... So whatever, i'll take my lumps.
Thanks to Greg@RET, his business and popularity is booming despite this economic downturn.. He still has time to take care of old customers and remembers where he comes from. Very responsive and always follows up.. Couldn't ask for anything more..

Looking forward to getting back out there so i could get the video camera out..
Got a set of 4 new nittos i need to burn up in the next vid..

I guess I can explain it all better

Actually just blowing the FRPS didnt do it. That is usually just a quick fix. While he was stuck in Vegas Pep Boys said they fixed the car since it wouldnt start with a new battery and a alt. So while driving the car in Vegas for 2 days with a blown FRPS it flooded the oil with gasoline. When he towed it to me I pulled the FRPS line and turned the key on. Sure enough fuel was shooting out. So I pulled all the spark plugs and cranked it.... that was like a Bellagio water show with fuel shooting out of the cylinders

Shortblock wasnt toast, but did need to be re ringed from cyl. wash, and put another block in to save on machining cost. Pistons, rods, and crank were able to be put back in. From running on gasoline in the motor instead of oil it damged 1 head. Long story short 13K miles on the motor it took a FRPS and ringwash to hurt it.

Sucks to here it happened and especially over just something so small, but at least it's taken care of now. Glad it's running again for you, FFS
