Angry 2K Brakes!! Holy Crap! (rant to follow)

(Rant on)
Wow what a total Pain In The Ass!! My passenger side outside pad shattered somehow this morning on the way to work. Taking with it the rotor and a chunk of the caliper. Was gonna be replacing them in on the next warm day anyway, but today of all days in the blizzard. I decided I may as well do the whole thing at one time instead of dragging all the stuff out twice.

I had to go to 2 different places to get all the parts to replace the front pads, calipers and rotors. One place I had to go back 3 times. First they sold me the wrong pads (The SVT pads in the computer are older SE pads), Then they tried to give me the 4 cyl version. They weren't even half the size of the SVT's. then I find out the brackets that came with the new calipers were for the smaller rotors, then I had one of the hoses split on me.

The guy at NAPA says he checked 3 different vendors and NONE of them say anything about different brackets for the calipers. The SVT bracket and the standard. All of their calipers come with the same bracket in the box and they can't get the caliper with the SVT bracket. Pray you never have to replace the bracket cuz you can't get it anymore from what I'm finding out.

The different manufacturers even have 2 different pads for the same year SVT?!?! WTF! I ended up having to tell them to get me COUGAR V6 pads with standard SE calipers and I swapped out the bracket myself with the old ones, even though I paid EXTRA for the brackets in the kit.

I'm SO TOTALLY wiped after all this running around. All of this in a huge snowstorm in Denver right now and I'm having to drive my '69 Mustang with the Stroker in it and Z-rated summer tires. too much torque+zero siping+snow= wipeout.

(Rant Off)
