Default Question and Pic Spam

Well, since there aren't but two SVTCs on the forum so far as I can tell, I figure a little pic spam can't hurt too bad. Washed/Waxed the car this afternoon, so I figured I'd take a few pictures.

I've managed to get the yellow out of the headlight covers, but there's still some haziness to the plastic right over the actual headlight.

Now for the interior:

Gauge cluster. Don't mind the check engine light, I replaced the AIC last week and haven't cleared the codes yet.

Wanted to put up a couple pictures of the dash so that someone who doesn't see it every day can tell me if there is any warping going on.

And for Redeemer, who asked yesterday for some shots of the rims. (They're still wet, so pardon the water.)

Also, I have a question. I am having what appears to be an unusual problem. Though it isn't anything major, it is irritating, and I was wondering if any of you lovely gentlemen had any ideas. The overhead cabin light and the floor light on the passenger's side will not shut off. I checked everything I can think of but have been unable to rectify the problem. The overhead light will go off if you switch it to "Off" rather than "12 sec," but the floor light will not shut off at all, so I ended up just removing the bulb. I've checked all the pertinent fuses, and no dice, so I just wanted to see if you all had any ideas. Thanks in advance!

Those head lights will clean right up with some polishing and buffing. Do you know any Ford techs or have any trustworthy dealerships close by? You can have them run their IDS software tests (I think it is best to just run the majority of all the tests: check for OBDII codes, KOEO and KOER, Mode 6, etc.) to diagnose your issue and it should let you know where the issue lies with the floor light. While you are there you can have them print out an Oasis report for your VIN and it will let you know the entire vehicles dealership history as far as service records, recalls, maintenance, etc. I'm not too familiar with the Contours so I can't help much through the keyboard. lol, No dash warp that I can see. What do you use to clean the interior? I'm still trying to clean up all the mess the first owner did.

If ya need a set of the early 98 svt rims let me know.

Light issue: check the dimmer switch, later models have a dimmer switch that clicks everything on if you go all the way in one direction.

FFS: Yeah, I used a turtle wax headlight restoration kit, and it helped a lot, but that haziness is still bugging me. I think I will have them run a diagnostic on those lights. Like I said, it isn't a huge deal, but it is irritating. And I have all the records as far as dealership visits and maintenance, etc. since it's essentially been a one-owner car. My father bought it new in June of 99 and I received it as a graduation gift in January of 07. Also, thank you for the compliment.

Redeemer: Alrighty, I just thought I might have just been used to it. I've never seen the interior of another SVTC, so I wanted to be sure. Lol. I use ArmorAll interior wipes or spray to clean the dash. The steering wheel I clean with warm, just barely soapy water to remove the gunky hand oil buildup. I tried using the ArmorAll wipes on it as well, but whatever is in it that gives the surface that sheen afterwards makes it impossible to grip the steering wheel, so I gave up on that. I also have some generic leather wipes I use for the seats.

also Check the switches on the A-pillar that are pushed in when the door shuts, I believe I once read that someone had this problem before and it came out being the central timing unit (don't quote me on that one though).

Haha, nope. I think that was a 98 only thing. The only other Contours I've seen with the spoiler are the SE versions.
