Default weird numbers???

alright so i was at the Ford Nationals in Carlisle Pa this weekend and they had a live Ford GT build..... they ran a baseline test on the dyno there and it made 471 hp 491 tq not too sure bout the tq numbers but... from wat i heard they put full exhaust and a pulley on..not sure the pulley size and a tune. they ran it on the dyno later that day and it made 510 hp and 518 tq once again not too sure bout the tq numbers. but to me those numbers seem too low for exhaust and pulley on the GT. it was funny the guys who did the stuff and the owner looked pissed and confused after the second run. do these numbers seem low to anyone else or am i just an idiot.....

Numbers can vary ALOT, (but for all intent purposes in general yes those are pretty low). But the hp to tq difference is what sounds weirder. So you know what brand of dyno? Do you know what model? Do you know all the specs on the car? Are there any pics? That would tell alot more. FFS

4v's usually turn out a little more power than torque, just for instance a Termi might make 600hp/550rwtq. 3v's usually closer to level, and the 2v's usually displace more torque than power. This is just in general and this is dependent on many other variables as well, like turbo apps almost always have lower torque numbers.

Several brands of dynamometers make portable dyno's, so can't really confirm much without any other info. Who was tuning it? FFS

my guess was the initial tune was a canned tune that you can get with a pulley swap so that might be the reason the numbers were low??

Yeah but even considering how low those numbers are, it still should have picked up more for the mods it had relative from the baseline numbers. Sounds like something was wrong to me; tune/tuner, dyno/operator, something?

i think there was somethin wrong with the dyno.... it wasnt reading the rpms right so they changeds some stuff on the computer but i still think it was messed so that was probably the reason.

You also might want to add CAI/RAI to your mod list- that can make a big difference as well.

I don't think there are any options really for the GT.
