Default New board, new forum, first post...WTH!

Might as well post up a few pics from the local autocross I run in.

Me driving my L...

Me driving my buddy's L (we drive our trucks, and then swap trucks so we can get double the amount of runs in)

Nice, is that suspension all stock? kinda wonder what my truck would do in a auto cross with stock suspension.

My truck (the black one) has 2" drop shackles in the rear. Brandon's truck (the white one) also has 2" drop shackles, but his front springs have been cut to lower it about an inch, inch and a half.

Otherwise, everything else suspension wise is stock.

Brandon and I both believe in the "run and gun, turn and burn" style of autocrossing our L's. We figure it's the only time we can do so and not go to jail!

Hey Brian sorry I wasn't at the shop today, I am trying to finish this big presentation due tomorrow for a Business Communications course. And I think i just got it done, btu I still need to gather and get all my visual aides in order. If you have any questions about that kit just let me now bud.

The DSG looks good on the course. I still want to try this one day with my L, maybe eventually? It looks like a ton of fun!

PS. Glad to see you over here.

No problem Stan.

Dante was very helpful in determining my high rpm pinging issue. He was convinced that there was a tune on my truck with some serious advanced timing. Turns out my truck was pinging at 12* at 4k rpm. Either there is a tune and it's really conservative or FoMoCo built a weird one. I'll probably be swinging by in a couple months for a proper tune to get rid of the knocking.

Nothing eats up tires like autocrossing a 5000 lb vehicle I think I'm gonna stick to autox only in the rain. It's pretty fun though.

edit: in case if Dante doesn't get the message, the plugs in my truck are XP103's and not the 105's.

Mike and Brian, both of you should get together with some of us other locals sometime soon for a beer or to hangout. Pretty usual; 02SilverBullet, 00QckSlvrLight, Haybale, and myself will all hangout. Use to have a couple others that hung out often too, but they all moved or sold their trucks earlier this year . In fact I will talk it over with 00QckSlvrLight, but we are probably going to have a bbq at his house this weekend on Saturday for his bday, I'll see if we can have a couple more over and invite you two if you want? FFS

Thank you, I'm Brian and I'm racking up mileage pretty quickly. That picture was taken by woodrufj who used to autocross his V8 Dodge Daktoa.

They have autox every 2-4 weeks, depending on the Charger's home schedule and other activities that might be going on at Qualcomm (ie, used car sales, etc.). http://www.sdsolo.com is where all the SD autocrossers usually go to. It's fun to get swapped up on the course but it's really not kosher to take out too many cones I believe there is an autocross this Sunday. You usually get 4 runs or so for about 45 minutes of course work. 4 runs is usually enough for street tires on the Lightning. They'll start fading pretty quickly with more runs.

The fun stuff's at the old El Toro airbase, where they hold the regional Pro Solo Events. Two "identical" autox courses with a drag race start Too bad it only comes by once a year, if that.

I'm down for a BBQ. Saturday day's are good. I usually work Saturday nights.
